How to Make Tag Slugs for Pages in WordPress

    • 1). Log in to your WordPress dashboard. The log in page is located at "yourdomain.com/wp-admin" in most cases.

    • 2). Click on the "Post Tags" link under the "Post" heading in the left menu of the dashboard.

    • 3). Click in the "Name" field under the "Add New Tag" heading. Type the name for the new tag as you want it to appear to a website visitor.

    • 4). Click in the "Slug" field. Type the slug you want to use for the search engines. The slug does not have to be the same as the tag name. You may add or subtract words to the slug for Search Engine Optimization purposes. The slug may only contain lower case letters, numbers and dashes. Since no spaces are allowed, you must use a dash instead.

    • 5). Click the "Add New Tag" below.

    • 6). Click on the "Add New" under the "Pages" heading in the left side dashboard navigation.

    • 7). Type the "Name" you used for the tag in the "Tags" field to the immediate right of the content entry pane. The page tag will be inserted once you publish the page and its content.
